HOW TO OBTAIN AN ORDER TO SUPPLY ANIMALS TO KMC
All farmers are encouraged to bring their animals. Farmers who express their interest in supplying animals to KMC will be given an order (LPO) to deliver animals based on their capacity and the delivery schedule. They will also be issued with a ‘No Objection’ permit which will be taken to the County Veterinary Office to obtain a Movement permit which should accompany animals delivered to KMC. If a farmer is unable to physically pick these documents from KMC offices, a soft copy of the Local Purchase Order (LPO) and the ‘No Objection’ permit will be sent by phone or email to the farmers to facilitate the process. The commission will also facilitate farmers travelling to Athi river with letters required for essential service providers to cross the county boundaries due to the COVID-19 prevention measures.
Once the farmer arrives with the animals at the Commission, the animals will be assessed by the acceptance and inspection committee and weighed for payment based on live weight in the presence of the farmer.
Farmers will also be required to pay Ksh 100/= to the Director of Veterinary Services as an inspection fee for every animal delivered.
PAYMENT PROCESS
After weighing the animals, a detailed statement on the number of cattle, sex and individual weight for the animals, cumulative weight of all animals delivered and the amount the farmer expects to be paid by the commission for his/her animals will be printed on the spot. The Payments will be remitted by RTGS (transfer from KMC bank to Supplier bank) as soon as possible.
