The Kenya Meat Commission (KMC) today has embarked on the journey towards implementation of a Quality Management System (QMS) bases on ISO 9000 standards. The process will be undertaken in collaboration with the Kenya Bureau of Standards (KEBS).

Today the first Top Management Brief was undertaken led by Mr Walter Otieno from KEBS who was received at the Commission Officer’s Mess by the Managing Commissioner (MC) Brig James N Githaga. The MC affirmed KMC’s commitment to the process and reiterated that QMS Certification will be the launch pad to resumption of the export business.

The Commission is geared at becoming a World Class Meat and Meat Products Processor while ensuring it remains A Cut Above The Best!!

In attendance were all the Managers and Heads of various sections. Continous Improvement is KMC’s top agenda.
