QUALITY MANAGEMENT SYSTEM (QMS) CERTIFICATION PROCESS

In the spirit of continuous improvement as part of our core mandate, Kenya Meat Commission (KMC) is in the process of acquiring Quality Management System (QMS) Certification. This certification will ensure improvement on our products, service delivery to our customers and that the Commission meets the criteria for exploring the International market.

KMC Management team underwent a rigorous three (3) days implementers training on Quality Management Systems. The training was conducted by a team of moderators drawn from Kenya Bureau of Standards (KEBS) & National Quality Institute (NQI) comprising of Ms Immaculate Chege, Mr Oliver Otieno and Ms Hellen Wahu.

KMC Management team was led by the Deputy Managing Commissioner & Chief Operations Officer, Col R O Mohammed. The management team was taken through the ISO 90001:2015 Standards in details and process of certification. This will enable management to take the lead role in implementation of the standard at the Commission.

KMC is geared at relaunching the export business later in the year while committed to become a World class meat and meat products processor.
