EDUCATIONAL VISIT BY EGERTON UNIVERSITY STUDENTS

Kenya Meat Commission hosted 17 (Seventeen) fourth year students from Egerton university-Njoro undertaking Bachelor of Veterinary Medicine & Surgery, who were authorised to conduct an educational tour to the Commission as part of their practical requirement. The students were led by their lecturer Dr. Christine Makena and Lab technician Mr. John Korir.

The team was received by the Admin Officer Major J C Nyamohanga. The Quality Assurance Inspector Ms. Gladys Minoo took the students through the hygienic and safety standards upheld by KMC to ensure quality, safe and healthy meat and meat products.

The students were later taken on a guided factory tour by the Production Team led by Mr. Jairus Onguko. The students were able to elaborately learn on all the plant’s processes and such knowledge becomes handy and relatable to animal health practices course they are undertaking.
